A Simulation of Life Using a Dynamic Core Memory Partitioned by Membrane Data
نویسنده
چکیده
An evolutionary core memory system is proposed which simulates reactions between biological molecules in membrane bound compartments in a solvent. In the imitation of biological substances, every word in the core is classi ed as a Membrane, Nutrition, DNA, or Protein; and the actions of the core proceed by metabolic reactions catalyzed by Proteins. The core is partitioned into small sections by Membranes. A creature in this space is represented by a region delimited by a pair of Membranes, and if it has an appropriate DNA sequence and initial Proteins, it can reproduce itself and dominate the core. In an experiment, a small ancestor creature that the author designed is inoculated and made to evolve in the core. Creatures able to replicate DNA more e ciently than that designed are successfully bred.

An Approach to Biological Computation: Unicellular Core-Memory Creatures Evolved Using Genetic Algorithms
A novel machine language genetic programming system that uses one-dimensional core memories is proposed and simulated. The core is compared to a biochemical reaction space, and in imitation of biological molecules, four types of data words (Membrane, Pure data, Operator, and Instruction) are prepared in the core. A program is represented by a sequence of Instructions. During execution of the co...

متن کاملA Fully Integrated Method for Dynamic Rock Type Characterization Development in One of Iranian Off-Shore Oil Reservoir
Rock selection in modeling and simulation studies is usually based on two techniques; routinely defined rock types and those defined by special core analysis (SCAL). The challenge in utilizing these two techniques is that they are frequently assumed to be the same, but in practice, static rock-types (routinely defined) are not always representative of dynamic rock-types (SCAL defined) in the re...
متن کاملAdvanced Dynamic Simulation of Membrane Desalination Modules Accounting for Organic Fouling
A reliable dynamic simulator (based on a sound process model) is highly desirable for optimizing the performance of individual membrane modules and of entire desalination plants. This paper reports on progress toward development of a comprehensive model of the complicated physical-chemical processes occurring in spiral wound membrane (SWM) modules, that accounts for the...
متن کاملMANAGER: A Multicore Shared Cache Energy Saving Technique for QoS Systems
Last level caches (LLCs) contribute significantly to processor power consumption. Saving LLC energy in multicore QoS systems is especially challenging, since aggressive energy saving techniques may lead to failure in providing QoS. We present MANAGER, a multicore shared cache energy saving technique for quality-of-service systems. Using dynamic profiling, MANAGER periodically predicts cache acc...
